Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress from England. She has won
an Empire Award and been nominated for two Gemini Awards, two Critics Choice
Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born in Reading, Berkshire, Dormer
gained notoriety for her character of Anne Boleyn in the Showtime show The
Tudors (2007-08), that won her praise from the public. Her stage debut was in
the play Sweet Nothings (2010) and portrayed the Duchess of York in Madonna's
film W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in Captain America the First
Avenger (2011). The Young Vic praised her performance in After Miss Julie
(2012). Dormer was praised for her performances in the show After Miss Julie
(2012) at the Young Vic. She also voiced Irene Adler/Moriarty for the CBS
series Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and
voiced Onica in the show The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). The show
was well-received for her performance in Penny Dreadful City of Angels (2020).
Dormer was born on 11 February 1982 in Reading, Berkshire (England), as the
daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards. She is also the younger sister
of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
