Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston), the national Director of Mary Kay and Freddie Wright. She was born in
San Diego, California. She started her professional career when she was 14 when
she began modeling. She has worked both in Paris, Japan and Paris. After
graduating high school, she was a professional actress. She was cast in the
soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times for a
Daytime Emmy. During the first season of the show she fell in love with fellow
cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she married in the year 1986. In addition,
she appeared in The Princess Bride (1987) in the title role. She was in the
role of Santa Barbara but left to star in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It
was during State of Grace (1990), when she was introduced to Sean Penn. They
had two daughters: Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After a break, Robin
was back to Hollywood and landed one of her most memorable parts of her career:
She was Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was stunning and brilliant. Then, she
acted in Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she gave a funny
performance. In 1994, Wright was in the blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump
(1994), along with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for the Golden Globe Award
in recognition of her performance as Jenny. She was offered a minor part in The
Crossing Guard (1995) with Jack Nicholson. After being rejected for 14 roles,
she was offered the lead part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). It was directed
by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and Morgan
Freeman. Next, she starred with William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
