Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen an ex-midwife and nurse from Norway. She was born on
April 25, 1969, in Katy. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer from
Switzerland. The two married in 1963. Renee is a sister to a brother called
Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on February 15 the 15th of
February, 1967. Renee began her interest in acting at the age of 14 when she
was working in the drama club. She took an acting class at University of Texas
(Austin) and began thinking about acting as a career. She wanted to be an actor
after graduation, but Hollywood isn't easy to enter. Renee decided not to leave
Texas and went to audition in Houston to be cast in roles. Matthew McConaughey
was another Hollywood newcomer who she met filming Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2:
The Next Generation (1994). McConaughey was working on an idea at the time
which Renee was interested in. She which she auditioned for and ultimately won
the role in the movie Love and .45 (1994) which earned her enough critical
praise that she decided to move to Los Angeles. Her big break came with another
part in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry
Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering actresses
such as Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when he saw Zellweger's performance on
The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger and felt confident she was
his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued to be a huge successes with smaller
independent films. Her films received even more praise from critics and was
sure that she was in a position to return to big-budget Hollywood films. She
was in the film alongside Meryl Streep in the tearjerker One True Thing (1998).
She also starred in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) in a role opposite Jim
Carrey and shortly after, began dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) as
the lead role.
