Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. At the age of 4 she entered the business with voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. Then she moved to The Object of My Affection (1998) and then spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe", a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah went on to be a part of the team with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) many more times: Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast to play "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Lovehewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she was named "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). With Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) as well as Falcone (2000). In addition to her film and television work, Sarah studied voice, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and tap Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theatre dance class in "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time working in film, television, and voice-overs for radio commercials and also traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, as he worked in many theaters across the nation. As a child, she was home-schooled. mom, she attended public schools from second grade onwards. She was accepted in the 6th year to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) which she attended until her graduation in 2008. Sarah was just 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was chosen). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
