Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora, a British musician and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the grandchild of director Besim Sahatciu. When she was just one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and then St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at an early age. In 2004, she was a part of the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision: Your Country requires You (BBC One) and being selected to represent Britain in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She was later unable to participate in the contest after a couple of episodes, feeling that the stage was not set. Ora has released her first album in 2007, when she appeared in Craig David's track "Awkward" which was followed by a follow-up appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began to sing in bars around London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z An A&R representative inform Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 music video "Young Forever", and "Over" from Drake. Jay-Z saw Ora and then sat down to sign her with Roc Nation. She was part of a commercial that featured Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a bar and she began her career as a singer from the pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her demeanor. She also cites her father Besnik, who was a bar owner. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran and their buddies.
